A&P Group, Falmouth - Assistant Maintenance Manager

Here at A&P Falmouth we are looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to assist the Department Manager to oversee maintenance activities and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facility.

Who we are:

A&P Falmouth is one of the largest ship-repair facilities in the UK, we provide a complete range of marine repair services thanks to our on-site engineering, electrical, paint, fabrication workshops and portal cranes.

What you will do:

As our Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will work with our Department Manager to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with Company policies, procedures, and requirements. You will:

  • Be aware of the key risks on site and consider them when planning work.
  • Proactively respond to emergent maintenance issues/breakdowns and yard damage.
  • Continually review the A&P Falmouth facility and ensure we are compliant with legislative standards, reviewing operating methods and implementing performance improvements.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and assist in implementing preventative maintenance measures.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders to schedule maintenance activities and minimise disruption to business operations.
  • Deputise for the Department Manager in their absence.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in maintenance and project management, preferably in a marine or heavy industrial environment, including heavy plant and machinery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Good numerical skills.
  • Demonstrable organisational and prioritisation skills with ability to manage a varied workload.
