We are looking to recruit Fitters to join our engineering department on a full-time permanent basis. You’ll be responsible for fitting and assembling mechanical components and systems onboard ships, ensuring systems function with accuracy and efficiency.

Previous experience as a Fitter or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment would be ideal, but we are also keen to hear from people who are eager to learn and be trained to our standards of work.

Who we are:

A&P Falmouth is one of the largest ship-repair facilities in the UK, we provide a complete range of marine repair services tanks to our on-site engineering, electrical, paint and fabrication workshops.

What you will do:

  • Fit and assemble mechanical components and systems onboard ships according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Installation of engineering components including: engines, pumps, valves and propulsion systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Use of hand and power tools as well as precision measuring instruments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

What we are looking for:

  • You’ll have experience as a Fitter or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment or will be eager to learn and be trained to our standards of work.
  • You’ll be able to interpret and understand technical drawings.
  • You'll be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • You'll be absolutely committed to ensuring health and safety in your work, we all work safe and go home safe.
  • You'll have excellent teamwork and communication skills, vital for success in the projects that we deliver.
