A&P Tyne – Project Manager, Marine

We are growing our team here and as a result are looking for either an aspiring Project Engineer or an experienced Project Manager to join the team on the Tyne.

Our Project Management team are critical to the business as the main interface between A&P Group and our customers co-ordinating and expediting all aspects of projects including planning, managing budgets, coordinating the team and ensuring successful delivery

We are looking for either experienced Engineers within Marine who know the nuts and bolts and variances of vessels and are keen to develop into Project Manager or experienced Project Managers looking for a fresh start.

So what will you do?

  • Develop project plans and schedules, manage project budgets, procurement and resource allocation
  • You’ll lead the team monitoring progress, identifying as well as mitigating risks and ensuring all work is safe compliant, delivered at the right quality standard and is profitable
  • You’ll familiarise yourself with all aspects of the projects that you manage from specification, tender and all of the associated documentation
  • Ensuring all issues are captured you’ll manage, monitor, maintain and report the progress and financial achievement of the project to the leadership team
  • You’ll coach and develop Project Engineers in their functions, with the ultimate aim of completing their career path to the Project Manager position

And what are we looking for?

  • An Engineering qualification – preferably in marine applications or similar
  • Experience in ship repairs or similar and either project managing or engineering mid to large-scale projects
  • Competency using MS Office and planning tools eg MS Project or similar
  • Leadership, problem solving, risk management and relationship management skills
  • Procurement and budget management skills including data analysis, excel and management reporting capability with accuracy and attention to detail
  • A strong planner and organiser comfortable making decisions to meet targets
