A&P Group, Falmouth – Management Accountant

Here at A&P Falmouth we are looking for a Management Accountant provide accurate financial information that supports our business decision-making.

Who are we?

A&P Falmouth is one of the largest ship-repair facilities in the UK, we provide a complete range of marine repair services thanks to our on-site engineering, electrical, paint and fabrication workshops.

We are a centre of excellence for ferries, mobilisation and demobilisation works, jack-ups, pontoons and tankers, and MoD defence vessels.

A&P Falmouth is also a busy working port where we handle over 100,000 tonnes of product every year and in addition to this cruise ships call alongside, berthing at our dock facilities near the centre of town.

What will you do?

• As our Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and you’ll provide financial guidance to support business growth and profitability.

• You’ll prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts as well as year-end audited accounts where you’ll be reporting on profit and loss, key performance indicators and undertake variance analysis

• You’ll monitor and analyse performance and budgets, both generating and following up on financial reports to providing insights and recommendations for business improvement

• You’ll support with budgeting and forecasting including profit & loss and cash flow

• Maintaining accurate, up to date financial records, you’ll ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies

What are we looking for?

• You’ll need to be at least AAT qualified or above and have experience in a similar role within a busy finance function

• We’re looking for expertise in financial reporting, analysis and compliance with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

• To influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels you’ll need great communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills will help you to work under your own initiative to deliver what’s needed, when its needed

• Accuracy and attention to detail is critical

• Microsoft Excel skills and experience of working with key accounting systems such as Sage would be great
