Project Engineer, Fabrication A&P Tyne

We’re looking for a Project Engineers to work on a range of activities from test procedures to writing up tech specs that will drive the successful execution of pre-planned fabrication projects.

Who are A&P Tyne?

With the largest fabrication facilities on the East coast of England, we can built units for vessels, and also joining them together.

Within our 24,000 square metre Fabrication Hall, where your projects will be based, we have a high bay construction hall for our new builds, a panel line, profile cutting and sub-assembly areas.

Using in-house capabilities to maintain tight project control we work closely together with our customers to deliver what they need, as they need it, when they need it.

So what will you do?

  • With your Project Manager you’ll develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation and budget management for fabrication projects
  • You’ll be providing technical guidance and solutions to project challenges through reviewing and refining drawings and specifications
  • With the fabrication team you’ll coordinate materials, tools and equipment to meet with project requirements
  • Supporting the Project Manager you’ll monitor, maintain and report progress and financial achievement of the project
  • You’ll identify potential bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to keep your projects to plan
  • With each project you’ll be finalising and documenting all project paperwork including arranging project wash up meetings

And what are we looking for?

  • Competency with MS Office and planning tools (MS Project)
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience in an engineering / structural engineering / ship building environment
  • Qualification at HNC/ Degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
  • Commercial experience and knowledge of project management principles
